THE ALIENS WILL SOON RETURN

I’ve always been interested in space. I remember learning about the planets, the stars, and the galaxies in school. It was so interesting to know there was so much out there beyond our little world. Then I heard about UFOs, and aliens. That was interesting, too. A little scary, but interesting. I wondered many times if there were aliens on other planets and if I would ever meet any.

When I was eight years old, I had a frightening dream. My sister and I were abducted by aliens. That dream returned, often, over, and over again for more than thirty years. During that time, I tried to make some kind of sense of it. Had we really been abducted by aliens? Were these repressed memories manifesting themselves in my dreams? What I finally found out was shocking. I’ll put a link to the full story at the end of this post.*

I’m still interested in aliens, space, and science. I sometimes watch TV shows about aliens and UFOs. There used to be TV shows where people who believed they had been abducted by aliens could share their stories. Those were very interesting and I would watch them every chance I got. Those stories were similar to mine and that kept me watching, hoping to get some answers.

There are still shows about UFO sightings. I watch some of those when I can. One of the things that confused me for years was that so many of these stories about UFO sightings, and alien abductions contradicted others. Sure, some of them were proven to be fake, so that explained a few things, but many others have never been proven to be true or false.

I've been a Christian now for many years. In reading the Bible, and communicating with God through prayer, many things have become clear to me. I gained a new perspective on things concerning space, aliens, and science. I realized that God is what’s missing from the equation many times when people try to understand things in this world, and in space.

I find it interesting that people believe in aliens but refuse to believe in God. Some even believe that aliens came here in the distant past, and somehow created humans. I believe it, too. That was God. It wasn’t little green or gray men from another planet. It was God. From heaven. Many ancient tales talk about beings from the stars coming and interacting with humans. Most legends come from something that actually happened like the legends of dragons. They were real. We call them dinosaurs today. In almost every culture, there’s a story about the biblical flood. The details differ from tale to tale but they all come from something that actually happened.

The beings from the stars are actually angels, and not all of them are good. Some of them are evil. Most people know the story of Satan and his angels who were kicked out of heaven. The Bible tells us that they and the holy angels have been interacting with mankind since God created the world.

I do believe there are other people on other planets outside our solar system. There is probably at least one inhabited planet in each of the trillions of galaxies spread throughout the universe. They are so far apart and so far from us, though, I doubt they could ever come here. Why would God allow them to come to our sin-cursed world anyway?

What about all those UFO sightings, then? Many of them have been well explained, but some are still a mystery. I won’t say it’s nothing or try to explain it all away because too many people have seen these things. The Bible says Satan is very smart, and he hates God and us. He has plans to destroy us, and he’ll use anything he possibly can to do that. He uses dinosaur bones to make people believe in evolution. That destroys people’s faith in God, and his holy word because evolution puts death before sin when the Bible clearly says death came into the world because of Adam’s sin. Maybe Satan is using UFOs, and aliens to distort some other truth about God. I don’t know.

What I do know is this; If we understand that God created everything, and we study the Bible, many mysteries are cleared up. I know we’ll never understand everything, but when we put God back into the equation, many things make more sense.

God made the world. He created mankind on the earth, and God is in charge. Many refuse to acknowledge that fact because they don’t want to do what he says. They don’t want to be accountable to him, so they look for any other answer except God. Don’t be one of those people. Give God the credit for what he has done. Give him the praise and glory he deserves. Get to know him, and his Son, Jesus, through prayer and Bible study. Give your life, and your whole self to him. Serve him, help others to know him, and be prepared for his soon return. When the trumpet sounds, and he appears in the sky, you’ll be glad you did.

OUR BEST FRIEND

When I was really young I remember visiting my Aunt who lived just through the woods. We walked there quite often with our grandmother. She had a dog named Clete. I don’t know what kind of dog he was but my sister and I liked him a lot, and I guess he liked us, too. We played with him every time we would visit. Then one day she told us that he once belonged to her brother, who was our uncle. His name was Marvin.

Later, we learned a couple of interesting things about Uncle Marvin and Clete. First, Marvin was our uncle’s middle name. His first name was actually Cletus. He named the dog after himself and just called him Clete for short. Cletus is a strange enough name to me, but Clete doesn’t even sound like a name at all. I’m glad I found out where the name came from.

The second interesting thing we found out was that Uncle Marvin had given Clete to me and my sister, and our aunt was just keeping him for us. I never did find out why. Maybe we were too young. I don’t know. Eventually, though, we got to take him home. We had to keep him tied on a chain in our side yard, but we played with him every day. He was like a member of our family. He was our best friend.

We moved several times over the next few years and our buddy went with us. We grew up and he was still there, just as loyal and loving as ever. Then one day he got sick. We got medicine for him and he seemed to get better, but eventually, he died.

I’ll never forget the pain I felt knowing he was sick and there was nothing I could do to make him better. I wanted to hold him and pet him and comfort him, but we couldn’t even touch him. I’ll also never forget the pain I felt when he died. All my sisters and I could do was cry. We were all heartbroken. He was our best friend for so many years, and we loved him very much.

We missed our best friend after he died, but we still had each other and we were glad for that. At least we didn’t have to miss him alone. Our grandmother was there for us, to hug us, and hold us, and tell us it would be okay. We also had Jesus to help us through that tough time. Our grandmother had told us all about him early on, and how much he loves us, and the animal he created. She told us about death and why everything has to die. It’s because of sin.

When God created our world, everything was perfect and he gave everything to Adam to take care of. Then Satan came along, and Adam, by disobeying God, forfeited his governorship to the father of lies. Then Jesus came and lived a sinless life and died, and was resurrected, and he took the kingdom back from Satan.

Yes, death is still here, but it has no power over those who trust and obey God. One day Jesus will physically return, and destroy death and sin once and for all, and those who have been born again will live with him forever. I’m looking forward to that day. I can’t wait to see Jesus. I’ll also get to see my grandmother, my dad, and my sister all again. I don’t know about Clete. The Bible doesn’t say whether or not we will have our animal friends back, but I certainly think it’s possible. I know that God is powerful enough to do anything. I’d like to see Clete again, and all our animal friends we have had over the years as well as our family.

It’s a blessing to have family and friends in our lives, whether they are humans or animals. It’s also a blessing to be part of God’s family and to know that Jesus is there for us, no matter what we have to go through in life. He’s our friend, and he loves us. He wants to be our best friend. If he’s not your friend then, you don’t know what you’re missing. Get to know him, today.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO OBEY GOD'S RULES, JUST CHANGE THEM

I was raised in church and I grew up reading the Bible. I’ve attended several different churches and I often wondered why there were so many different denominations. We have the same Bible but there are so many different interpretations of the same scriptures. All Christians have a few doctrines that we believe pretty much the same as other Christians but each group seems to have a few things that are vastly different from all the other groups. This is the reason for so many different denominations. It seems that all denominations began by following one man or a few who believed certain doctrines that were not excepted by the group they were currently associated with. When there were strong disagreements on doctrine, one group would leave and start their own church. I’ve seen that happen in my lifetime.

The fact is, the Bible is God’s word. It was inspired by the Holy Spirit and preserved for us by God for thousands of years, so we would be able to know God better and understand His great love for us and what He expects from us. He never meant for us to have more than one denomination. It doesn’t matter how many different beliefs we may have, there’s only one truth and there’s only one place we can find it. It’s in God’s Holy Book, the Bible. For proof that the Bible is God’s word, read the article entitled “Is The Bible Really God’s Word?” *

When Jesus was being questioned by Pilot, his final question was, “What is truth?” (John 18:38) He didn’t wait for Jesus to answer him, though. If he had, I’m sure Jesus would have told him the same thing he said in John 17:17 when he was talking to God. Jesus said, “Sanctify them through Your truth: Your Word is Truth.” The word of God, the Bible, is TRUTH. When we need to know the truth, the Bible will show us. Many today, though, don’t believe the Bible is true, even Christians doubt it. Many people pick and choose what to believe and what not to believe based on what they want to do and don’t want to. The Bible says, “don’t kill” but they want to kill, so they just redefine what killing means.

Proof? Abortion. Life is life, no matter what stage it is in, but some said, “No!” They changed the definition of an unborn baby to a “fetus” and said it’s okay to kill a fetus as long as it is not old enough to live outside the womb. Then they changed that and introduced late-term abortion. Later they introduced partial-birth abortion where the baby is killed after it is almost out of the womb. Thank God that awful procedure was made illegal in 2003. Now they’re trying desperately to make the world believe a child doesn’t develop a conscience until they are five years old and therefore they are not a human being before then. This is just another step in redefining what killing is, simply because many humans don’t want to obey God.

Another example: The Catholic Church changed the Ten Commandments by getting rid of the second commandment completely because they didn’t want to obey God when he said not to worship carved or sculpted images. They split the tenth commandment into two, so there would still be ten. By the way, the Catholic church claims they moved the holiness that God placed on the seventh day Sabbath at creation (Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 20:8-11) to Sunday, the first day of the week.

That’s another example: The fourth commandment. The Sabbath commandment, which states “the Seventh Day Is The Sabbath Of The LORD Your God”. It IS a commandment, NOT a suggestion, but some people decided they didn’t want to obey God so they started using the first day of the week instead of the seventh. By the way, this happened long before there was ever a Catholic. They used the day of the sun, or the sun day to worship the sun god Tamoos. Constantine was the first Roman emperor to profess Christianity. In 321 A.D. he made an edict that forced Christians to worship on Sunday instead of Saturday, which he saw as Jewish. In 364 A.D. the Council of Laodicea made the following decree.

“Christians shall not Judaize and be idle on Saturday (Sabbath), but shall work on that Day: but the Lord’s Day, they shall especially honor; and as being Christians, shall, if possible, do no work on that day. If however, they are found Judaizing, they shall be shut out from Christ. **

This is what happens when men don’t want to obey God’s laws. They change them. There is not a bit of proof in the Bible that God changed his fourth commandment in any way, but millions of Christians defend the change with vigor and refuse to worship God on the day he said to. Sure, some have been deceived, but many know the truth but still will not obey God.

These are just three modern-day examples of what happens when people don’t want to obey God. To make ourselves feel better about sinning, we “change” the rules, or the definition of terms or just ignore them altogether. Whatever helps us sleep at night. We are just fooling ourselves though. No unrighteousness will enter the kingdom of God. (Matthew 7:21; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:1-20) We have to obey God to get to heaven, and we need to stop twisting the scriptures to suit our own beliefs. (2 Peter 3:16) We will be judged by whether or not we obeyed the words of the Bible. (John 12:48) It is God’s word. It is TRUTH.

FEAR

It was four o’clock in the morning. We were startled from sleep by our four-year-old son who was scared. He said he had seen a huge mouse in the hall while on his way to the bathroom. “It looked like a Guinea Pig,” he said, with tears in his voice. I thought to myself, “That’s a big mouse.” I told him to go on to the bathroom. I said, “A mouse won’t hurt you. He’s as much afraid of you as you are of him.” I was wrong. As he started out the door he let out a horrifying scream. He turned and jumped from the door onto the bed. I’ve never seen anyone that small jump so far in my life. He was hysterical. My wife and I tried to calm him down. Just then, we heard our oldest son call from the living room that one of our hamsters was out. So, I got out of bed and started searching for the “huge mouse that looked like a Guinea Pig.” We finally found her in the bathroom and put her back in her cage. Then we all went back to sleep.

I’m sure the fear our son was experiencing was brought on by several different factors. I’m sure it came partially from his being so young and inexperienced, and from thinking there was an animal in his home that wasn’t supposed to be there. Some of our biggest fears come from a lack of knowledge; Fear of the unknown.

When we’re young we’re innocent and trusting. It doesn’t take long for fear to develop in us though. As we get older we learn not to fear certain things we once did, but at the same time, other fears develop in us. Life throws so many things at us and we can’t always dodge them all. But, as we learn to trust God, we begin to understand that he knows all, and he is watching over us and protecting us. Then, we can have peace and not be afraid when we find ourselves in situations we don’t understand. 2 Timothy 1:7 says “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

The Bible says fear doesn’t come from God. Satan and his evil angels are the ones who cause us to be afraid. There is no limit to the different things they can use to accomplish their goals, but I think visual media is the number one way they put fear into the hearts of humans. TV, movies, and video games are among the top ways I see this happening, and people keep watching stories about ghosts, zombies, vampires, and demons and they have no clue that these things are opening doorways for demons to enter their lives. No wonder people have so much fear today. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Psalm 118:6 says, “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear.” 
Isaiah 12:2 says, “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid:”

We need a close, personal relationship with God. This doesn’t just happen. We have to be intentional about it, just like in a marriage. You have to work at any relationship. The Bible is clear that God wants a close relationship with us. Prayer, reading, and studying the Bible every day will help us to get to know Jesus as our friend, our Lord, and our Savior. When we allow him to live in our hearts, he will give us peace of mind and banish all fear from our lives.
